Margaux Carel is a French artist based in Lisbon. With a background spanning editorial, creative direction, and interior design, she brings a practiced visual sensibility to ceramic sculpture, which she developed as a self-taught practice.
Her work explores the body, memory, and self-reconciliation through biomorphic fired ceramic forms. Her earlier series, “Creatures”, gave shape to states of disconnection and self-rejection. Her current series, “Particules”, marks a shift toward acceptance — softened forms, fragments of a self coming together.
Carel works from Studio Mirante in Lisbon, which she co-founded with Clotilde de Kersauson. Her work has been presented at Lisbon Design Week and international design fairs in Lisbon. She is currently seeking gallery representation in Paris and New York.
